Bootstrap org email

Goal

Receive @yourdomain, send as humans via Gmail, and prepare product transactional mail — without mixing vendors across lanes.

Steps

  1. Point DNS at Cloudflare; enable Email Routing to your personal Gmail for inbound.

  2. Add DMARC at p=none with reporting (Cloudflare automatic setup is fine to start). See DMARC policy path.

  3. Create ZeptoMail Mail Agent; verify domain; create your SMTP key; configure Gmail send-as. See ZeptoMail + Gmail send-as.

  4. Add Resend domain as a subdomain (updates.…); configure send + links; put records in org infra when ready. See Resend domain DNS.

  5. Wire the app to Resend API only (not human SMTP).

  6. After 1–2 weeks of clean reports, escalate DMARC.

  7. When marketing journeys matter, add Customer.io on a separate subdomain — not Brevo by default for product orgs.
